Bushido - An Ethical Code

Bushido is the ethical code upon which most in the samurai class lived their lives.  It is not something that existed for centuries, but actually was a code that took hundreds of years to develop.

Yuki or Yuu - Valor which comes from bravery and courage
Jin - Benevolence which is good will coming from compassion and an understanding that all are to be treated the same.
Gi - Justice / Rectitude is good behavior which is rooted in one's character.
Rei - Politeness / Respect comes from practicing good conduct (etiquette) and expressing proper courtesies.
Makoto - Truth / Honesty / Veracity / Integrity is foundational to all proper living and communication.
Chugi - Loyalty to family / Master / submissive.  
Meiyo - Honor is the result of living the first 6 virtues.
