Mission

In 1995, I opened my first website, which was simply a calendar of events for the Florida D/s Community, and a few articles on safety. It was known simply as "Florida BDSM Calendar". I did this for no other reason than out of a sense of love for the new and growing community in Florida. About that same time a few of us started a support and education organization known as SPICE. I am one of the 7 original founding board members.  I saw a website as a way to supplement the work of SPICE and help undergird the general safety.

Over the years I have had several web hosts. Although there was nothing sexually explicit about the content, AOL didn't like the D/s content, and with thousands of others unceremoniously wiped out the entire site. I wasn't very smart then and had no backups, thankfully to some chap in England who had saved my entire site, I was able to recover 90% of what was lost. I moved on to another server.

Then in the Winter/Spring of 2000, my submissive and I became the targets of internet stalking and harassment by a couple of lifelong felons and con-artists. It became necessary in order to protect my submissive to not have this website.

That threat has passed, and I wanted to redeploy this site.

This website has always had an oriental theme. With undergraduate education in history, and my life long love for things oriental, as well as my first love in the DsARts being, Japanese Rope ARt, it was my natural way to creatively offer what I could to the community.

With this redeployment I gave the site a new name, "D/s ARts", and acquired my own "dot com".  For years it seemed that my site was the only one that approached D/s from the Oriental School.  Every site I saw was based upon dungeons and essentially the Marquis de Sade motif.

Of course the calendars are back, now divided into a World and Florida calendar.

In the Educational section, now called "The Academy of D/s ARts" and the Rope section now called, "Japanese Rope ARt" we have added tons of new content and are looking for more contributions from the community at large. In the next month we will be adding pictorial how-to's on many Japanese Rope Ties.

One of the project we are most excited about is the section called "The ARt of Geisha". This is a project I have worked on for several years. It is a study into the submissive arts from the prospective of the Geisha. We will be adding a new lesson at the rate of one per week.  You can see the coming essays in the welcome of that section.

We have added some new features with this redeployment which includes a Bookstore in association with Amazon.com, a Pictorial Gallery of Japanese gardens, a Library of creative writings by various members in the community.

Toward the end of July, we will open "Erotic Restraints", a Gallery of erotic rope art with a number of real lifestyle people. Another project in the can for over a year now.

In the past few months it is pleasing to finally see a few new sites appear with the oriental theme.

We hope you enjoy.  It is done with love for the community.

Our mission remains the same as it was in 1995, to provide the best free support and educational materials on the web that we possibly can.

I have learned a lot over the years. When you put yourself out like this, you open yourself up for a lot of crap. You find out who your real friends are and who was just using you. You discover what real respect, honor and truth is all about, as the unscrupulous will do just about anything in order to get there jollies as your expense.

Fortunately, I have been fairly successful at keeping my space positive and clear of the mess that marginal personalities like to put out, and not allowing the negative energies to corrupt my spirit. What I have learned in doing so, it drives the neurotic insane... which is actually pretty humorous and entertaining...... LOL
