Do you approach your service as giving a gift? Are we trying to define who we are and what we do by a word? Internet created terms has our community pre-judging one another based on different interpretations of its meaning. Words are meaningless without the understanding of intent. Can this gift be returned and are you waiting for an exchange? If expecting anything, why not simply a considerate acknowledgment of gratitude. This is not to say that you would not have certain expectations set forth within your D/s relationship. There requires a balance of give and take, but should we label it a gift? Let's sum up the value of submission by unwrapping its meaning.
