The dungeon was awesome with its variety of equipment and sizable space. Since most were doing some sort of rope scene, one did not have to worry about ducking to avoid the back swing of a singletail. I was in awe just walking around, shaking my head, speechless at the mastery and imagination of the scenes. Everyone felt a part of the play occurring and could get close and feel the energy emanating. The admiration of the onlookers was simply outstanding. Some observers were given permission to touch the knots that were binding, others were allowed to actually have a hands-on experience with the bottom and participate. Some of the usual stillness you see with suspension bottoms was replaced with laughter, giggles, swinging, swaying and dancing in the ropes. As Midori puts it, "if the bottom is not having fun, then the top does not get a biscuit." By the end of the weekend, i think we ran out of biscuits. With all of the flying going on, if the building had not been attached, it would have lifted off its foundation. It was such a delight to meet those whom I have seen post and had conversations with via the Internet. The gratification of finally associating the face to the name was priceless. Reconnecting with friends from all over the US whom I had met at other conventions was emotional and thrilling. We gathered, commiserated about our aches and pains, shared our astonishment of "how did they do that?" with the awesome play we were privileged to view, and exploded with tears and laughter reliving scene pictures and reviewing workshops. Tatu, tea-time will never be the same again, grin. And Lochai, your vision came true you were blinded by rope. Thank you both. Suzanne, you can come and decorate my ceiling with a beautiful chandelier anytime, kiss. With everyone whom i have met, my rope family has grown and i embrace you all. The rope workshops were superb (as expected) and approached areas transitioning from the novices to masters, and for both tops and bottoms. In the past i have found that there are the usual variety of classes to show the riggers the "how to" instructions, but offer little to the bottoms. ShibariCon addressed the needs of the bottoms by offering such classes as: Psychology of Rope Bondage, Bottoming Basics, Stretching for Bondage, Basic Safety, The Way of the Rope, and The High on the Bottom. These were available to specifically help express our safety, experiences, needs, comfort levels, and passions. Kudos!

Place (2004) From the intertwining of Tatu's and Midori's e-group families, the fellowship convention of rope has begun with ShibariCon and can now be shared with others. We take our experiences and teach others, tell others, show others, and do unto others. Thank you MorTis, Midori and the rest of the hard working crew for allowing this incredible event to evolve. It didn't just occur, it grew from within and took us all on a journey. To ShibariCon 2005! Flying in rope, shevah~ © shevah~6/04
